The 212 sea-facing, colonial style rooms are all elegantly furnished and include a luxurious bathroom with freestanding bath and large shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, a mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary WiFi and a private balcony or terrace. Upgrade to a Prestige Room for more space, or choose one of 15 stylish suites for a separate living room and access to a dedicated section of the main beach. Six dining options include the beautifully presented buffets at Belle Vue and sizzling Asian fusion dishes at Le Banyan. Château Mon Désir offers an elegant, colonial à la carte fine dining option overlooking the historic ruins of Balaclava. If you don’t want to stray too far from your sun lounger, then La Marée, located right on the beach, is perfect for a snack or laid-back lunch, and is also a seafood venue in the evenings with regular beach bonfire nights. There’s also the excellent Mauritian table d’hôte, Lakaz Kreol, which serves local delicacies accompanied by live music.

Facilities

Located at Turtle Bay, the first Marine National Park in Mauritius, this resort is a haven for watersports, including complimentary windsurfing, waterskiing, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, pedal boats, paddleboarding and glass bottom boat trips. It’s also a great destination for families, with an Equestrian Centre housing 12 horses and ponies, and the option of lessons for ages 6 yrs and up; you can even go riding along the beach which is a very special experience. There are also three floodlit tennis courts, a gym, PADI dive centre, mini golf, nine-hole golf course with unlimited complimentary green fees and the fabulous Tropical Flower Spa with 13 treatment rooms, saunas, steam room and whirlpool.
