City Lights of the USA

Visit four of the USA’s major cities; Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City and Miami.

Those infatuated with bright lights and big cities should look no further. Hike the Hollywood hills, a quintessential LA activity and soar over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter before hitting Las Vegas and its dazzling nightlife. It’s easy to start a love affair with New York, strolling down the cinematic avenues and taking on some of the best sightseeing opportunities in the word. Then onto Miami to hang with the art set, all while staying in iconic hotels.

DAY 1
Arrive Los Angeles

Land in the golden state and a private SUV will be waiting to whisk you to your hotel on the famed Wiltshire Boulevard. Check in and spend the rest of the afternoon rejuvenating in the spa or take a stroll around Rodeo Drive, only a five-minute walk from your hotel.

DAY 2
Los Angeles
Today you can get to know LA at your own pace, perhaps cycling along the gold-sand beaches or visiting some of the city’s top-notch museums. In the late afternoon, a private guide will pick you up for a 4-mile sunset hike in the Hills, an important Los Angeles pastime. The iconic views overlooking the city are worth the climb and no trip to LA would be complete without that all-important selfie with the Hollywood sign. Then skip the queues at the Art Deco Griffith Observatory for an insider tour of its planetarium.

DAY 3
Los Angeles
Ever wondered how LA’s stars get in shape? Today you have a chance to don your chicest workout gear and train with the best fitness instructors in town. Whether it’s a heart-pumping hike along a nature trail or a run up the famed Santa Monica Stairs, you’ll get closer to a sculpted body. Or stick to the upscale gym where you can try out celeb-tested programmes and rub shoulders with the healthy elite. You’ll have plenty to video and share on Instagram.

DAY 4
Los Angeles
You have the day to spend at your leisure. Why not go on a jaunt to Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) wandering through labyrinthine galleries showcasing works by Picasso and Rembrandt among many more. Or head to the romantic Venice Canals for picture-perfect scenes. It’s worth a visit to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the final resting place of Hollywood’s biggest stars and a great spot for a tranquil stroll. For lunch, eat your way through the Grand Central Market’s tacos and panang curries.

DAY 5
Los Angeles - Las Vegas
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and a driver will take you to LAX for your flight to Las Vegas. Upon landing, a private chauffeur will be waiting to take you to your swish hotel which feels far away from the crowds. Unwind in the two-story spa or hit the iconic ‘Strip’ for a game of black jack or roulette.

DAY 6
Las Vegas
It’s time to explore America’s rock star site. The Grand Canyon is every bit awe-inspiring with two-billion years of the earth’s history embedded in layered rock, gorges and sculpted peaks. Enjoy a pinch-yourself experience, soaring in a helicopter with an unparalleled pilot’s view as you take in the canyon’s sheer size and ravishing beauty. You’ll have the rare chance to land in a remote spot for a glass of champagne and brag-worthy photo opportunities. Other sights include the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and sweeping views of downtown Vegas.

DAY 7
Las Vegas
Vegas is synonymous with hedonism and there are plenty of ways in which to enjoy a classy escape. With everything imaginable at your fingertips, why not indulge in a champagne brunch or book one of the city’s big-time shows. Not just for gamblers, Vegas boasts fine dining restaurants, as well as luxury shopping from Tom Ford to Harry Winston. You don’t even need to touch a slot machine (your hotel is the only one without a casino) with access to the best rooftop bars and exclusive nightclubs with high-rolling DJs.

DAY 8
Las Vegas - New York City
This morning, a driver will take you to the airport for your flight to New York. On arrival, your chauffeur will be waiting to take you to your hype-worthy hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Lap up all the bells and whistles including a luxuriating spa, ultra-glam bar featured in several films and a three-Michelin star restaurant. Igniting postcode envy, you’re a four-block walk to Central Park while the Museum of Modern Art is around the corner. Fifth Avenue’s upscale boutiques are also a short walk away.

DAY 9
New York

Discover Brooklyn with a savvy guide who knows all the geographical sweet spots as well as the trendiest restaurants. Cross the famed Brooklyn Bridge for a bike ride around the coolest neighbourhoods including Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick. You’ll stop to admire street art and pause at the waterfront for picture-perfect views of Manhattan. Dip into a coffee house to sip on artisanal brew. It would almost be a cardinal sin not to stop for a ‘slice’ of Neapolitan-style pizza. Then end the day at a rooftop winery with enviable panoramas.

DAY 10
New York

Explore the metropolis at your own pace, armed with our little black book. Gain access to cultural experiences at the Met and MoMA, both must-sees as well as the hottest bars and restaurants. Quintessential activities include, drinking mimosas in Central Park or a walk on the 1.45-mile long High Line, an abandoned freight rail line, elevated above the city with scenic walkways. For something a little different, why not take a zodiac out on the Hudson and scout out the cinematic scenes that grace the big screen.

DAY 11
New York City - Miami

Say goodbye to the concrete jungle and head for the beach. A driver will take you to JFK where you’ll fly to Miami. On arrival, meet an A&K rep who will transfer you to your swish hotel right on Miami Beach. Unpack the Prada sandals and hole up in a cabana for the rest of the afternoon.

DAY 12
Miami

Your local guide today is an anthropologist who can offer insider perspective of Miami’s Cuban culture. Veer off-piste to Calle Ocho, the beating heart of Little Havana and visit places rarely visited by other guides. As you walk around chatting to friendly locals, you’ll learn about the history, politics and architecture of this dynamic neighbourhood as well as snack on stuffed empanadas and various other Cuban treats.

DAY 13
Miami

This morning, head straight to Miami’s street art mecca, Wynwood Walls. Meet an expert graffiti artist who will take you around the warehouse district that has become internationally recognised. Boasting the world’s largest collection of street art, wander around the galleries and exhibitions alive with colourful murals. This includes a studio visit and graffiti art workshop where you will learn the basic spraying techniques from a seasoned pro and create your very own piece of art.

DAY 14
Miami

Spend your last day in the lap of luxury. We’ll recommend the best places for a long lunch and cafes perfect for people-watching. Why not browse the Design District and its boutique shops and showrooms. Or simply unwind in the opulence of your hotel. The spa is undoubtedly one of the chicest spanning over 1,300 square metres. Then there’s the beach of course, where it’s near impossible to budge from the golden sands.

DAY 15
Depart Miami

It’s time to bid adieu to the beach. A driver will take you to the airport from where you will depart.
