North America

Luxury North America

You could argue for days over which is the most Iconic landmark found in the United States of America. Is it the White House in Washington DC, the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, the skyline of New York, the great outdoors of Montana, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, New Orleans Carnival or Disneyworld in the sunshine state of Florida?

The USA is huge and it would be impossible to show you everything we offer our clients but think about planning a trip this way.

What do you want to see more than anything else? Choose then tell us and we will show you what else combines really well in the time you have available. Take the Golden Gate Bridge for example and we will show you how to bring in the great outdoors of Yosemite, the famous Highway 1 Drive, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and then maybe Las Vegas.

Like its North American cousin, Canada has so much to offer and we are pleased to say that Westway Travel and our Canada partners know the destination really well.

We have taken part in inspection visits to both East and West coasts along with the renowned triangle of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. The latter probably accounts for 90% of our clients’ journeys and we then add in the Rocky Mountaineer, the famous train Journey through the Rockies to Vancouver.

Our top tip however is, don’t miss out on Vancouver Island and the Pacific Rim National Park. After the massive mountain scenery, you will get a chance to see Black Bears, Grey Whales and Orcas plus the majestic coast line and beaches of the Pacific. Give Ian a call if you want to know more.

Best Times to Visit North America

Depending on your purpose – be it beaches, wildlife watching, skiing or self drive touring, there’s a perfect time to visit.

Take a look at our guide below – or if you have something in mind, contact us and one of our North America experts will be able to guide you on the best time to visit.

Northern USA is cold – but good for visiting cities like New York and Boston for galleries and shopping.

Southern USA has pleasant temperatures and sunshine so ideal for outdoor activities and hiking.

In Northern USA temperatures begin to warm, though that brings rain replacing the snow.

In Southern USA April is a great time to travel with sunny warm weather and active wildlife

Spring in Canada from late April to early June sees the snow melt, wildlife and wildflowers re-emerging and is quieter than the summer months to travel

Spring has arrived in Northern USA and except for Hawaii which has most of its rainfall in May, the rest of the North has good temperatures for outdoor activities.

Spring in Canada from late April to early June sees the snow melt, wildlife and wildflowers re-emerging and is quieter than the summer months to travel

June is glorious in Northern USA with The Rockies at their best and a great time for outdoor activities. Colorado is especially beautiful with blooming wild flower meadows in June.

In the South – weather is warmer again with biking, hiking and sailing all popular.

In Alaska, this is the start of the best time to explore – from June to September with temperatures around 16 – 19 degrees.

The summer sees the national parks at their best, from Montana’s Glacier National Park to Yellowstone to see the steaming geysers. In the east, the beaches of New England are popular, although the cities are hot and humid. In the South there are two climates at play. The southwest dry heat is great for outdoor events and activities but the eastern states such as Florida can be humid and have occasional heavy rains. The Alaskan summer provides perfect temperatures to enjoy the wildlife – bears, otters, seals and whales

Probably best known – the eastern part of the country – New England, for the striking colours of autumn leaves.

In the southeast states it is hurricane season, but if you want sunny days – try Hawaii at this time.

In Canada – the autumn foliage is amazing. It’s also the start of the salmon run and this attracts bears to see.

Temperatures in Florida and Southern States are still pleasant. In the north winter brings on the cold weather and snow.
