Day :1

Location : Broome / Geikie Gorge

Welcome to Broome! After meeting up with your new travel companions and group leader, you’ll begin our Aussie Outback adventure and hit the wide, open road, heading east toward Fitzroy Crossing. Meet up with a local guide and jump aboard a cruise along the magnificent Danggu (Geikie Gorge). You’re in for a real treat – expect to cruise by richly-coloured cliffs that tower above, carved by floodwaters of the nearby Fitzroy River. Listen intently as your local guide tells stories about the fascinating geology of this natural wonder and learn about the array of native Australian wildlife – like crocodiles, birds and fish – that call this pocket of Western Australian paradise home. This evening, in true Aussie style, you’ll camp beneath the stars by the Fitzroy River and enjoy a special Kimberley BBQ dinner.

Day :2

Location : Tunnel Creek / Windjana Gorge

Rise and shine! After breakfast today, pack up camp and wave goodbye to Fitzroy Crossing, heading toward the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. These ranges soar up to almost 1,000 metres at their highest, this area features epic sandstone mountains and granite outcrops. Keep your eyes peeled during the drive and really soak up this typical Western Australian landscape. Our first stop is at Tunnel Creek – a cave system carved through the limestone of Napier Range. You’ll learn about this fascinating place, once part of an ocean reef system some 350 million years ago, as you walk through the tunnel that reaches up to 20m high and 15m wide in some parts. Look up in awe as stalactite rock formations cling from the cave walls and rays of light pierce through from above. You’ll also learn the intriguing story of the legend of Jandamarra, an Aboriginal freedom fighter who used the tunnel as a hideout in the late 1800’s. This afternoon, set up camp in Windjana Gorge National Park and spend some time exploring this impressive area, searching for local wildlife – like crocodiles and native birds – and bushtucker. Tonight, tuck into another campfire dinner under the starry night sky. Cheers, mate!

Day :3

Location : Adcock Gorge / Galvans Gorge / Mt Barnett Station

After breakfast at camp, hit the globally recongised Gibb River Road (AKA the iconic journey of Australia). Gaze out the window and be mesmerised by the diverse landscapes on this drive – you could be treated to lush river gorges one minute and vast open plains the next. Our first stop is just off the Gibb River Road at Adcock Gorge, a picturesque pool and small waterfall surrounded by rainforest and sandstone ranges. From here, we’re off to Galvans Gorge for a refreshing afternoon dip among waterlilies and boab trees that cling to the water's edge and offer pleasant shade from the Outback sun. This evening, set up camp at Mt Barnett Cattle Station alongside a sweet billabong oasis. This is a refreshing spot to kick back, relax and listen to the sounds of the crickets chattering in the distance.

Day :4

Location : Manning Gorge

Today’s adventures lead you to Manning Gorge, a remote yet spectacular area surrounded by high cliffs. For something a little different, you’ll cross the tranquil Manning River either via pulley boat or by taking a leisurely swim across to the other side. Now that your muscles are warmed up, you’ll enjoy a bushwalk to the impressive Manning Falls. The calming sound of cascading water and a cool pool to dip your toes in will be a welcomed reward after your walk. This afternoon, you’ll have the chance to unwind even further with a refreshing dip in the Manning River before setting up camp and getting the fire going for another scrumptious camp dinner.

Day :5

Location : Bell Gorge / Silent Grove

Your Outback oasis today is Silent Grove. After another scenic drive, head straight there to set up our camp for the evening and enjoy lunch before exploring the spectacular Dalmanyi (Bell Gorge) in the ancient Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. This is a relaxing place to stop and take in the scenery of the clear pools below, that were formed millions of years ago, and the dramatic cascading waterfall fed by the Bell River.

Day :6

Location : Derby / Broome

Your West Kimberly adventure comes to an end today but not without two final stops at Norval Art Gallery in Derby and the renowned ‘Boab Prison Tree’ on the way back to Broome. The Norval Art Gallery is run by a local Kimberley husband and wife duo and showcases their own works of art as well as pieces from indigenous artists in the local Kimberley area. You may even be lucky enough to see some artists at work in the gallery today. Finally, you’ll check out the ‘Boab Prison Tree’ named as it’s said to have been used as a holding area for prisoners being transported to Derby. The incredible tree is over 1,500 years old, with a circumference of over 14 metres. After this final stop, continue the journey back to Broome where you’ll bid farewell to your newfound friends and group leader – until the next adventure, of course!
