Explore Eastern Greenland

Embark on a true polar adventure aboard the G Expedition on this 14-day journey through Greenland’s remote eastern coast. Explore deep into the fjords and glacial scenery of Northeast Greenland National Park, the world’s largest protected national park, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife and the spectacular northern lights (if conditions are right, of course). With stops in storied local communities along the way, you’ll also learn about the indigenous history and culture from those who call this region their home.

Day 1 Reykjavik
Embark aboard the G Expedition and depart Reykjavik in the late afternoon.

Day 2 Denmark Strait
On our first day at sea, get to know the ship and meet the Expedition team. Enjoy an opportunity to see whales and many different bird species, including soaring fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets guillemots and razorbills.

Day 3 Tasiilaq
Discover Tasiilaq, East Greenland's gateway to adventure located on the southeastern coast of Ammassalik Island. With stunning views across the Tasiilaq Fjord's natural harbour, the mountains and the sea beckon travellers to explore. Attend a talk at a local museum and learn about the area's history and culture.

Day 4 Nansen Fjord
Taking advantage of local ice and weather conditions, board a zodiac and explore the majestic Nansen Fjord, a broad inlet with rocky headlands distantly framed by the highest point in Greenland. With its primary tidewater glacier that spans a 14km width, copious quantities of icebergs have been known to disgorge into the fjord. Explore one of those rare places on Earth blessed with both awe-inspiring landscape and a compelling natural history.

Day 5 Greenland Sea
Enjoy a day of Arctic lectures, relaxing on board the ship, and an opportunity to see whales as we cruise further north.

Day 6 Kaiser Frans Joseph Fjord
Take two days to explore the stunning Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord, located in the heart of the Northeast Greenland National Park — the largest national park in the world (and on the world's largest island). See towering icebergs up close as the ship navigates the fjords. Weather and ice conditions permitting, enjoy great opportunities for zodiac cruising and landings in the area.
